Student life on campus

Student life

Our university campus is greatly enriched by a diverse study body. A variety of fun activities and informative sessions are planned to welcome you to campus and assist you with the transition to university. Our university's International office hosts an orientation for you to help you adjust to university life and living in Oshawa. No matter where your interests lie, you are sure to find a club, program or activity to maximize your experience inside and outside the classroom.

International students may find the following opportunities of particular interest. To learn about all that campus life has to offer, visit the Campus Life page of the current undergraduate students website.

General information

International students may find the following opportunities of particular interest. To learn about all campus life has to offer, visit the Campus life page of the Student Life website.

Your Student Association

There are many opportunities for international undergraduate students to be involved with your Student Union (SU) and our Student Experience programs, which promote intellectual and personal growth by connecting you with the development of new initiatives.

Many of our students participate in one or more of our dozens of active cultural and religion-based student organizations, which represent groups from East and South Asia, the Caribbean, the Middle East, Europe and Africa. There are also program-specific groups such as Engineers Without Borders, the Marketing Association@UOIT and the Pulse: Med-School committee.

International Students Club

The International Students Club creates a welcoming and fun environment for international students, so life away from home becomes a lifetime experience. This club also has a focus on doing charity work—helping others around the world who need a helping hand.

The club uses Facebook as its main communication tool. Members can post event ideas, meet new people, see upcoming events and more. Contact to learn more.

Student clubs

Many students first connect through one of the dozens of campus clubs. Your SA offers a number of ratified student clubs ranging from program-specific to hip hop dancing to religion and social justice.

As a student at our university, you can participate in any club, as well as propose new clubs to reflect the emerging interests of the campus community.

Visit the SU website to learn more.
