OBW - Ontario/Baden-Württemberg, Germany

Ontario/Baden-Württemberg (OBW) is a two- to three-month summer research program for Ontario graduate and undergraduate students in science, engineering and health science disciplines. Each successful applicant will spend either two (minimum) or three (maximum) calendar months in the summer at a university in Baden-Württemberg (southwest Germany) engaged in research projects relevant to her/his studies in Ontario.

The OBW International Lake Constance Summer School is a four-week immersion program in German language and culture. Students from around the world study German and learn about the cultures of the German-speaking countries that surround Lake Constance: Austria, Germany, Liechtenstein and Switzerland. It offers a unique, excellent, and highly enjoyable learning experience in the classroom, as well as excursions to places of interest in the region and an extracurricular program. Lake Constance lies at the centre of one of the most interesting, beautiful and culturally rich areas of Europe.

Successful applicants will receive a $1,000 scholarship to help cover expenses during the course. These scholarships are from funds provided by the Ontario Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development.
